Tuesday evening (22 July):
Reception at the University of Debrecen

The reception, to which all participants and accompanying persons are invited, will take place in the inner courtyard of the neo-baroque main building of the University of Debrecen.

Wednesday afternoon (23 July):
Eexcursion to Hortobágy National Park, UNESCO World Heritage site

Hortobágy is the only vast plain area covered with grass in Central Europe. Founded in 1973, the Hortobágy National Park has won the title "World Heritage" in cultural scenery category in 1999. It preserves the traditional lifestyle of the "puszta", protects the ancient Hungarian domestic animal species and it serves the roosting and nesting of birds in the region. Owing to its scenic beauty, rich traditions of its pastoral life and its unique plant and animal world, it is considered to be one of the most popular tourist centres in Hungary.

Conference participants will be driven into the puszta by horsedrawn carriages. They will visit the Nine-Arch Bridge, which is the longest stone bridge in Hungary, as well as the famous Hungarian rare breeds in their natural habitat, such as grey cattle, Nonius horse, water buffalo, Racka sheep and woolly pig, and their herdsmen and horsemen. Unforgettable experiences are the cart drawn by four oxen, the horseshow and the fantastic gallop of "Fivein- hand".

After the carriage ride there will be a dinner at sunset in the famous baroque building of the Hortobágy Csárda (Inn). Specialties of Hungarian cuisine will be served.

Thursday evening (24 July): Conference Banquet (50 EUR)

The conference dinner will be organized at the Kölcsey Centre.
